Honest John’s Community Kitty has raised £2,500 to share among five Newton Aycliffe Care Homes for the Residents’ Comfort Funds. £500 has also been donated to Newton Aycliffe Women’s Institute. A couple who left valuable jewellery in a box of goods were asked to call back to see if they had made a mistake. The did return and said they were aware of the contents and wanted to help the Community Kitty – the value of the jewellery was £400 and Honest John thanks them for their generosity. John also thanks DISC for allowing him free space in their premises, Val his assistant volunteer, donors and customers.
Honest John, from the proceeds of his Market Day stall, has donated £250 to each of the five Care Homes in the town. John said it was a gift on behalf of the community to bring extra comfort to the elderly in care at Christmas. “I wish love and peace to all” said John.
All of the residents at Aycliffe Care Home would like to say a very big thank you to Honest John. John has donated £250.00 to our resident fund. We are extremely grateful to John for the help as it has been hard raising funds and this money will help with extra things over Christmas.
This isn’t the first time that John has raised money for us and I think that other groups he has helped will agree that “thank you” just doesn’t seem enough sometimes.
John deserves more recognition for standing on his stall in all weather conditions raising money for different groups.
THANK YOU to Honest John for his generous donation of £250.00 for the residents’ treats over the Christmas period.
From the Manager and Staff at Lindisfarne Care Home
Rose Lodge Care Home received £200 from Honest John. He invited Clare (Social Life Facilitator) and Annie Cowen (a resident) along for a cup of tea and cake.
Clare said “It was a great pleasure to meet John, who with help from local people has made this kind and generous donation. The money will be used to help with the Christmas activities, entertainment and Christmas meal at the Bay Horse”.
Rose Lodge thank John and all involved
On behalf of all the residents at Aycliffe Care Home I would like to thank Honest John for his generous donation again this year. Honest John has a wonderful assortment of pictures, ornaments, games, musical instruments, hoovers and much more in The Cubby.
Due to Honest John’s business which is situated in The Cubby he was able to donate £500.00 which we are extremely grateful for. So as well as a big thank you to John we would also like to say thanks to everyone that has supported Honest John’s stall.
